About Us

From a young age, Lauren was known as the "crazy dog girl" and soon grew older into the "crazy dog lady". After adopting 4 special needs dogs, and realizing that 4 was the legal limit of dogs one person can have in Chicago, she knew she had to start something bigger. We here at Chicago Animal Sanctuary think all animals should be loved no matter their age, disability, or breed.

And a special shoutout to all my previous employers and professors who let me sneak my dogs into the office while I worked or into the classroom during my Masters program.

Mission

We love all animals here but we specialize in the animals that are deemed "un-wanted" by most people such as the special needs and seniors.

Vision

Whether an animal is able to be adopted or not, we want them to live a happy and comfortable life. We also want to educate the community on how to provide care for these special creatures!
